10 Thoughts on WWE Superstars 01.27.2011 — Tyson Kidd, Zack Ryder, Yoshi Tatsu

Reviews, Shows, Top Story, TV Shows

1. Barreta has grown tremendously in these last few months, and is really flourishing on his own. Where he used to only rely on his particular style, he finds a way to complement his opponents and make the match work. I dig it, and tip my cap to the formerly-hated star.

2. Reks came off very strong in this match. He destroyed Barreta for a moment, then kicked out of everything Barreta threw, and then finally hit his monstrous finisher. I wish they would do more with him.

3. NXT Recap: I feel as though this season of NXT has all the tools needed to make a great show, but it’s still something I zone out on.

4. “Still to come, an incredible main event, two Superstars that are entered in the Royal Rumble…” Um. Most of the men from both rosters are entered in the Royal Rumble.

5. Looks as though Primo is a heel again. If they don’t care about giving him a legitimate character, why use him?

6. Zack Ryder acknowledged what we were all thinking when he called himself “one of the most overlooked Superstars in the WWE”. Obviously, many others are overlooked as well. But–I’ve said this once, I’ll say it again–Ryder is someone I feel could really do something in the WWE.

7. Primo and Yoshi have such blatantly different styles, that I enjoyed their interaction during this match. They fed off of each other and made it pretty great.

8. Tyson Kidd’s song is bigger than he is. But I love that fetus-looking bastard. He’s so great technically, and although I wasn’t sure about his heel turn, he’s really done well with it.

9. What’s Up? Not my interest level. I’m really tired of the whole R-Truth thing.

10. Random Thought of the Week: I miss the tag team division. Your division is defined by your champion, and even with all my love for Santino and Kozlov, no one can deny it: it’s a novelty belt. It has the same prestige as the Women’s Championship, and that’s sad. I personally love tag team action and wish its death could have been delayed. But if you’re not the WWE Champion, you’re nothing.
