Chael Sonnen Placed Back on Suspension by CSAC

News

UFC Middleweight Chael Sonnen must be getting used to this by now. Sadly, instead of moving on from this period of intense disappointment in both his personal and professional lives, it looks like Sonnen will be forced to sit it out a while longer. After he finished his suspension from the CSAC for “improper disclosure of synthetic testosterone for testosterone replacement therapy,” Sonnen pled guilty to mortgage fraud, was ordered to pay a $10,000 fine, received two years of probation and lost his real estate license.

Yesterday, Sonnen found out that he has been placed back on suspension by the California State Athletic Commission. He must first resolve his issues in California as “his plans to appear in front of the NSAC to reapply for his fight license have been interrupted by this most current suspension, which the NSAC have decided to uphold; Sonnen must now appeal his suspension from the CSAC before he can move forward with anything else.”

Sonnen last appeared in action at UFC 117 last August, where he lost via fifth round submission to middleweight champion Anderson Silva.
