Ben Henderson and Clay Guida Agree To Bout For UFC on FOX

News

It seems as if the UFC is one step closer to settling the confusing UFC Lightweight Title picture. Clay Guida and Ben Henderson have verbally agreed to face each other on the first ever UFC on FOX card.

After Yahoo! Sports broke the story, sources close to the situation have confirmed the bout to MMA Weekly. Both fight-camps have yet to comment on the situation, but it seems that this bout is all but confirmed. Considering UFC on FOX will only show the main-event on FOX Network, you can expect this fight to air live and for free on Facebook.

Ben Henderson (14-2) has been on a tear since his debut in the UFC. Although both his victories in the octagon have come by way of unanimous decision, he dominated almost every aspect of both of those fights in exciting fashion. Henderson is coming fresh off a victory over Jim Miller at “UFC Live: Hardy vs. Lytle”. Miller was on a seven-fight win streak walking into the event and despite showing a tremendous amount of heart and determination, he was outclassed by Henderson. Henderson out-struck Miller and escaped each submission attempt with ease as he kept his composure.

Clay Guida (29-8) has been on an impressive run himself lately as he is riding a four-fight win streak. Back in 2009, fighting guys like Nate Diaz and Mac Danzig brought out the best in Clay Guida but it wasn’t until 2010 where fans started taking note of Guida as a viable contender to the UFC Lightweight Title. He has won Submission of the Night honors after locking Takanori Gomi in a guillotine and trapping Shannon Gugerty in an arm-triangle choke. Perhaps it was his most recent victory against Anthony Pettis at the TUF 13 Finale that landed him in the top of the UFC lightweight division with other elite names like Ben Henderson and Gray Maynard.

Fans have been clamoring for this fight for a long time and it looks like it’s going to take place on the biggest stage yet.
