Recently Marvel Comics announced that Peter Parker would be back in command of his body in a new Amazing Spider-Man #1 under the All-New Marvel Now publishing initiative. The problem, Peter Parker is seemingly dead with Doctor Octopus covertly in control of Peter and Spider-Man’s body. Doc Ock is the most Superior Spider-Man. Superior Spider-Man is winding down with Superior Spider-Man #29 hitting stands this week with Part 3 of Goblin Nation with Spider-Man 2099!
What you need to know about the last year of Amazing / Superior Spider-Man stories:
- Amazing Spider-Man #700 revealed how Doctor Octopus swamped bodies with Peter Parker with Peter
seemingly dying with Doc Ock’s frail body. - Superior Spider-Man #1 was hyped and it was revealed Marvel was committed to a Peter Parker-less Spider-Man for at least one year.
- Superior Spider-Man #25 had Peter Parker return covertly to help Doctor Octopus save his body from Venom’s clutches.
- Superior Spider-Man #26 revealed that Peter Parker is fighting to get back in the mindscape while the Avengers tangle with Superior Spider-Man in the real world.
- Superior Spider-Man #27 revealed that the Green Goblin knows that Doctor Octopus has taken over the Amazing Spider-Man’s body.
- Superior Spider-Man #28 revealed how Peter Parker has been hiding from Doctor Octopus.
This week’s Superior Spider-Man #29 continues the Goblin War primary arc and the Peter Parker return to his Amazing Spider-Man self. Like with previous spoilers previews the Peter Parker journey is absent, but we do get a lot of Green Goblin. Plus Spider-Man 2099!
