It appears WWE, in constant search for new material to air on their Newtork, has been reaching out to NJPW in order to acquire some of the promotion’s footage.
Apparently that request has now been denied according to a statement issued on the New Japan website
That statement, issued by Bushiroad President Takaaki Kidani (owner of NJPW), is of course in Japanese, but here is an interesting, translated, passage:

In the same statement, Kidani also says NJPW is more intent on competing with promotions like WWE than on reaching deals with them.
