Spoilers and review follow for The Flash #5.
The fastest woman alive isn’t Jesse Quick, but is Meena Dhawan and she and Barry Allen are…
…crushing on each other!
She’s also helping Barry Allen’s Flash alter ego train all the new speedsters that have be borne lately. She has her sights on young Wally West who she…
…coaxes into accepting that he has super speed! However, despite her success in cracking Wally’s tough veneer and helping him on his path to become DC Rebirth’s Kid Flash in this book and in the Teen Titans title, no good deed or deeds go unpunished as…
…she tangles with Godspeed as he takes on or takes out the new speedsters in training. It appears in her efforts to save the new speedsters…
…she may have died!
So…
We didn’t know her that long, but we learned a lot about new speedster Meena Dhawan, but what we did learn was that she formidable and interesting, but not formidable enough to take on Godspeed. I’m pretty stoked about the slow build here with Wally West’s journey to become the Flash; very similar to Jon Kent’s journey to become Superboy in the pages of Superman.
Spoilers and review follow for Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #3.
So, where is Guy Gardner Green Lantern? Well no one knows, not even Guy himself, but he looks to be protecting himself the old fashion way. Guy Gardner is bloodied, but undeterred!
The rest of the issues pits Hal Jordan against a Sinestro Corps Yellow Lantern fleet!
However, Hal Jordan may be the greatest Green Lantern, but…
…one Green Lantern against…
…an army of Sinestro’s Yellow Lanterns…
…isn’t enough to save the day anymore!
So…
Not thrilled about Hal Jordan being the lead of this book, but we know that John Stewart is back, Kyle Rayner is on the path to his return, so all eyes turn to Guy Gardner now in my opinion. Even the two newest Earth born GLs have their own book; Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz anchor the twice monthly Green Lanterns title! Oh, Guy, where are you?
