There has been some talk of the former undefeated NXT Women’s champion being in hot water with WWE officials since being moved to SmackDown Live but that is apparently not the case.
The reason for Asuka’s absence from TV and lack of storyline is her current struggle with the English language. It’s being said that while Asuka is tremendous in the ring, she is unable to cut a good promo and therefore cannot further potential storylines. There is some hope that pairing her with Naomi may show a different side to Asuka’s character while allowing Naomi to do most of the talking. It also positions the two former WWE champions as contenders for a women’s tag team championship, if one should be introduced.
