Marvel Comics Universe and Avengers #26 Spoilers and Review follows.

Avengers 1,000,000 BC Tale Revealing First Star Brand…

…Was NOT An Immortal Hulk Caveman After All?!

Not sure who are what a Star Brand is?

Above and below is a two-part Official Marvel Handbook entry for the concept from a few years ago.

We open with a bit of a Marvel history lesson beginning four billion years ago…

…then sixty-six million years ago where…

…it is revealed that the first Star Brand…

…on Earth was a dinosaur!

Then we move to Sixty-Five million years ago…

…where two gay cavemen have to fight off deviants that…

…they fair well against.

Later, one of them dies as we encounter a dying Star Brand dinosaur.

The surviving Caveman is angry and somehow absorbs the Star Brand and…

…becomes the next Star Brand and seeks revenge on those that killed his partner all before he is…

…recruited into the Avengers 1,000,000 BC.

The Pulse:

A really interesting yarn with action, drama and a hint of mystery. Biggest selling feature is the Gary Frank interior art; wow! A missed opportunity though as there was no cameo by Tony Stark Iron Man who is stuck in the past in the time of the Avengers 1,000,000 BC. 8 out of 10.
