5 books this week.

  • Batman #96
  • Dark Nights: Death Metal – Legends of the Dark Knights #1
  • Justice League #50 (I’m curious if it ties into next month’s new Dark Nights: Death Metal arc)
  • Far Sector #7
  • Young Justice #17

I see a Maestro poster and Marvel Tales reprint this week, but with the upcoming Maestro mini-series, I wonder if Marvel will have enough to eventually either do an over-sized HC of all Maestro stories or an omnibus?

I haven’t checked yet how many stories there have been so far, but I am intrigued by his story. Peter David and Dale Keown are a great creative team two punch IMHO.

  • Fire Power #1 and #2 – The prologue OGN for this series was one of the best comics I’ve read during the quarantine era. Kirkman is someone I pretty much always enjoy, and this certainly has some big potential. Reminds me a lot of Iron Fist, but the sense of humor in the OGN was spot on.
  • Star Wars #5 – A friend of mine was just asking last week if Star Wars was every coming back. HERE IT IS! I’ve been enjoying the new Star Wars run, though like most comics, the massive gap between issues hurts the flow big time.
  • Dark Nights Death Metal Legends Of The Dark Knights #1 – The one shots were my favorite part of Metal. Death Metal hasn’t really tread any new ground so far, but I am still curious about this one shot.
  • Giant-Size X-Men Fantomex #1 – Wait, is Fantomex still a thing? I thought Xavier had taken over his body…but who knows with X-Men continuity. It’s a lot of Choose Your Own Adventure when a new writer takes over. Fantomex came about when I wasn’t reading comics, so I’ve never had a strong attachment to the character.
  • DCeased Dead Planet #2 (Of 6)
  • Justice League #50
  • Strange Adventures #4 (Of 12)
  • Young Justice #17
  • Nancy Drew And The Hardy Boys The Death Of Nancy Drew #3
  • Sonic The Hedgehog #30
  • Ice Cream Man #20
  • Black Cat #12
  • Dr. Strange #6
  • Empyre #4 (Of 6)
  • Empyre X-Men #2 (Of 4)
  • Fantastic Four #22
  • Lords Of Empyre Celestial Messiah #1
