Marvel Comics and Amazing Spider-Man #59 Spoilers and Review follows.
Mr. Negative, Friend Or Foe? Plus Kingpin’s Plan and Allies Take Sinister Shape!
The book has a few more variant covers in addition to the above.
Plus the main cover.
The book opens with a one-page monologue where Martin Li explains how is Mr. Negative due to his sins; sins taken away by the Sin-Eater, but looking for Li after the Eater’s defeat.
The book then pivots to Spider-Man vs. Mr. Negative’s henchmen, who want him back, as Norman Osborn aka Green Goblin takes Harry Osborn’s wife and son to see him in stasis as the villain Kindred; the family is gutted.
During Spider-Man fight, Aunt May is taken hostage, but…
…Martin Li orders them to release her as he willingly…
…embraces his sins to become Mr. Negative again.
However, Spider-Man is denied justice or vengeance as Mr. Negative is scooped up by…
…the Mayor of New York City Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin.
Later, Kingpin and Negative work out…
….turf issues as Mr. Negative is needed by Kingpin to secure a mystical tablet, but…
…there’s other villains vying for this prize and the rewards of the Kingpin!
An intriguing issue with the Mr. Negative and Kingpin subplots conjoining as it drives this arc now. Interior penciller Marcelo Ferriera evokes Joe Q for me in a good way. An entertaining issue. 7.5 out of 10.
