Spoilers

DC Comics and Wonder Girl #1 Spoilers and Review follows.

There Is A Disturbance In The Force?!

The book has a few more variant covers on top of the above including the below.

Plus the main cover.

The book opens with a flashback or daydream about when Yara Flor either stabbed a raider or Ares, the Greek God of War, and…

…her mother paid Yara’s price.

We then pivot to modern day where Yara Flor’s plane is landing as she begins a vacation.

Queen Nubia of the Amazons senses something is amiss as does Hera in Olympus and Queen Faruka in Bana-Mighdall.

Yara Flor just continues on her merry way while all this is happening.

She hops in a cab and…

…decides to help free someone who was in car accident before the vehicle exploded.

The Mount Olympus Greek gods, Themyscira amazons and the Bana-Mighdall amazons all sense a disturbance that is teased to be Yara Flor.

The book ends with Yara Flor being snatched into the water away from her friend…

…into the arms, er, tail of another?!

The Pulse:

A compelling issue for one where Yara Flor does not don her Wonder Girl threads. Solid world building though and amazing art. 8 out of 10.
