THE JUSTICE LEAGUE IS DEAD-LONG LIVE THE JUSTICE LEAGUE!

When Pariah and his forces of the Great Darkness laid waste to the most powerful superheroes of all time, all hope was lost…until now. To power his weapons of war, Pariah has captured each member of the Justice League and trapped them on worlds suited to their every dream and desire…while the planets themselves slowly eat away at their respective inhabitants. When the Justice League went toe-to-toe with Pariah’s Dark Army, Green Arrow was fatally wounded by Doomsday…so how did he wake up on a world tailored to his every desire? And what dark bargain has Black Canary made to will these worlds into existence? Where there’s life there’s hope, and with that hope comes a deeper unraveling of the tapestry of the DCU’s biggest event of 2022!

Looks like Oliver Queen Green Arrow has left his Sherwood Forest / Robin Hood type world and walked into another one.

The more modern and urban world of Dinah Lance Black Canary.

They fight, as one does, but realize or feel that they know each other.

As they walk off together, a shadowed figure sends someone feral on their path.

He attacks them at a resturant.

That feral man is another Oliver Queen?!

An injured Green Arrow is saved by Black Canary who seems to have learned a thing or two about bows and arrows from her long-time lover.

I meant to type soulmates instead.

Turns out that hooded figure was another, perhaps older, Oliver Queen who manipulated these circumstance for some altruistic reason.

The back-up story picks up as Green Arrow is dying from Doomsday’s attack.

Like with the other Worlds Without A Justice League, Pariah attempts to create two separate worlds for Black Canary and Green Arrow.

However, it doesn’t work unlike the rest of the Justice League.

Due to theie soulmates status Pariah has do something different.

A Worlds Without A Justice League which has the two of them on it.

Dark Crisis: Young Justice #5 (of 6) Spoilers follow.

HERE’S MICKEY! Mickey Mxyzptlk, son of Mr. Mxyzptlk, built the “perfect world” where he and the boys of Young Justice could rule without being criticized, without having to change, without ever having to grow up. Mickey has an ugly soul and too much power. The boys of Young Justice will have to overcome their shortcomings and defeat him to get back to the DCU they know and need!

In the issue, we learn what Mickey Mxyzptlk, the son of Superman foil Mr. Mxyzptlk, has created this world, stuck in the 1990’s.

The junior imp also makes a sexist and misogynistic comment about Wonder Girl’s age and why she wasn’t part of his plan.

Mxy is angry over what he feels are slights against the original Young Justice three (OG YJ 3).

They’e been “replaced” by the next generation Kid Flash, Robin and Superboy / Superman.

While one could make the argument hat Superboy (Conner Kent) replaced no one, as prior to his debut Superboy was just the younger version of the adult Superman, both Robin (Tim Drake) and Impulse (Bart Allen) were successors to in Robin’s case TWO Robins (Dick Grayson and Jason Todd) and in Impulse’s case ONE Kid Flash (Wally West).

Mxy is unhappy that OG YJ 3 doesn’t see it his way. They actually welcome and embrace the next generation of super-heroes and super-heroines.

A further battle ensues between MXY and his forces against the OG YJ 3, but it is marked by the actual Wonder Girl (Cassie Sandsmark), Arrowette (Cissie King-Jones) and Red Tornado (a sentient robot) finding their former teammates and saving them.

A new united Young Justice are ready to wage war with Mxy.

In the battle, they actually make back to their home Earth 0 Prime (or whatever it may be called).

However, Mxy followed them with the next issue promising “real world” consequences due to that.

I’m still not clear how this ties into Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths as its title portends.

I Am Batman #14 Spoilers follow.

The mystery of a pair of brutal murders is solved, a hero is born, and a mantle is passed. The conclusion of the intense “She Got Next” saga will reverberate from New York all the way back to Gotham City as it sets up the next chapters for both Jace Fox and Renee Montoya.

As you may recall, it was I Am Batman #15 that was billed as the Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths tie-in issue.

However it looks like the last few pages of I Am Batman #14, including its cliffhanger page, begins that tie-in.

Sinestro has arrived.

Superboy, Robin, Impulse, Wonder Girl, Arrowette; and Red Tornado are all reunited, but is it too late for them to face down the unmitigated and unhinged power of Mickey Mxyzptlk? Young Justice will have to let their old wounds heal quickly if they’re going to escape from Mickey’s fake universe and rejoin the real DCU to help join the final battle of Dark Crisis!

The Dark Crisis checklist is above, but it is missing December 2022’s Dark Crisis: Big Bang #1 one-shot whose solicitation you can find here.
