Monkey Prince #11 Spoilers and Review.
The book opens with the Ultra-Humanite trying to bring the Monkey King to Earth from the Phantom Zone.
It does not work.
However, the Monkey Prince crashes the party and in the midst of battle bangs into the Phantom Zone Projector and is inexplicably able to create a stable portal to the Monkey King.
The Monkey Prince meets the Monkey King and explains that he’s his son, but King helps Prince uncover his origins to determine if they are connected or not.
That puts us back 15 years ago in Metropolis.
The henchpeople of the Ultra-Humanite find a baby in a boulder and they leave their villanous master to raise the baby the themselves.
It would appear that there is a connection between Prince and King.
We then learn that the Monkey King willingly went into the Phantom Zone after a battle with Darkseid as he would die if he remained in the real world.
The Monkey Prince returns to the real world to look for the Monkey King’s mentor the Sandalwood Buddha to figure out how to get the King out of his dilemma.
Back the real world, the Ultra-Humanite injects him with a compliance device that will compell him to do what his grandfather asks or risk immense pain.

An entertaining issue with lots of action and intrigue. While the secret origin revelation was compelling the vitality of the issue to the Lazarus Planet event is dubious. Solid art. 6 out of 10.
