Child’s Play introduced the world to Chucky. He was what happens when a killer who dabbles in the dark arts transplants his wicked soul in a beloved doll. The movie was a hit in theaters and spawned quite a few sequels. Chucky has his own TV series now. Last August the first three of the movies came out from Scream Factory in 4K UHD Collector’s Editions and now the next four sequels are getting upgraded this August. Bride of Chucky returned the series with Hong Kong director Ronny Yu (The Bride With White Hair) and Jennifer Tilly as the woman that loved Chucky. Unlike so many other horror franchises, creator Don Mancini had remained with Chucky as the screenwriter and for the last three films in this collection, he’s also the director. CULT OF CHUCKY | Confined to an asylum for the criminally insane for the past four years, Nica (Fiona Dourif) is wrongly convinced that she, not Chucky, murdered her entire family. But after her psychiatrist introduces a new group therapy tool – a “Good Guy” doll – a string of grisly deaths plague the asylum and Nica starts to wonder if maybe she isn’t crazy after all.
