Rasslin’ Roundtable – TNA Lockdown

Features, Roundtables

TNA World Title
Sting (c) vs. Mick Foley

Mark Allen: Please don’t let Mick Foley win the TNA World Title. Let someone like AJ or Daniels or Joe take the belt off of Sting.
Winner – Sting

Brad Curran: I don’t see the wisdom in taking the belt off Sting or putting it on Foley at this point. Jokes about TNA’s booking aside, I’ll go with the Stinger.
Winner – Sting

Matthew Michaels: Mick Foley, TNA World Champ? That can create a lot of buzz. I say pull the trigger.
Winner – Cactus

Widro: This has been built well, with Sting standing tall as a babyface amongst his MEM stablemate heels, and Foley slowly turning. I could see Foley and Sting doing an official double turn with Foley joining MEM and getting the title. Foley has been a main ratings driver and I think it makes sense to get the title off Sting at this point.
Winner – Foley

David Brashear: While I don’t think that Foley’s got what it takes to be a long term champion, the clock’s ticking on Sting as well. With the media attention TNA’s trying to get from using Danny Bonaduce on the show, I could very easily see them put the belt on Foley for a little while. After all, Foley and the Rock were responsible for the highest rated quarter hour Raw’s ever had…
Winner – Foley

Lethal Lockdown
Kurt Angle, Booker T, Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash vs. Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels

Brad Curran: I’d say Front Line could use the win here, but that’s pretty well over, isn’t it? That said, aces almost always win War Games style matches, and I see that holding here, especially since they’re playing it up like Jarrett’s turning heel. We know how Russo loves his swerves that are only swerves if you’ve never watched wrestling before.
Winner: Team Jarrett

Matthew Michaels: Front Line’s gonna win this one. They HAVE to.
Winners – Front Line

Widro: It was great to see Christopher Daniels not only brought back as himself, but slotted immediately into the main events. Joe seems to be floundering but the rest of this storyline has worked well. I think team Jarrett wins in a semi main to further set up the double turn in the main event.
Winners – Team Jarrett

David Brashear: Like it’s been said above, the Mafia’s been running roughshod over TNA, and we’re heading toward the point that WCW hit when the NWO just steamrolled over anyone who stood against them and wrecked their credibility. If Jarrett does turn, I’ve got to say that I’d be interested in seeing what he could do against a motivated Joe.
Winners – Team Jarrett

Mark Allen: With the momentum of the Fallen Angel returning the good guys have to win this one. Plus who ever gets the deciding fall will put themselves in perfect position to challenge for Sting’s World Title.
Winner – Planet Jarrett

Title vs. Title
IWGP Tag Team titles vs. TNA World Tag Team titles
Team 3D vs. Beer Money, Inc.

Matthew Michaels: Team 3D has never lost in Japan, if I’m correct, so if they are to drop those belts, this might be a good way to do it.
Winners – Beer! Money!

Widro: The storyline is peaking at the right time, with Beer Money turning strong heel on Spike and Balls on Impact. Team 3D is a heavy babyface and will probably win, because I dont see how Japan would be happy with a title change on a TNA PPV.
Winners – Team 3D

David Brashear: It’s hard for me to call this one, because the Dudleys definitely need to go away for a while to freshen themselves up. However, I’ve got to wonder if New Japan would let the belts switch hands on a show like this. I’m probably wrong, but I’m pulling for Beer Money here.
Winners – Beer Money, Inc.

Mark Allen: With all the hype they’ve put on Team 3-D coming back to Philly and the wild beat down on Spike and Balls on this past week’s Impact I don’t see Team 3-D losing here. Plus it’s not like Team 3-D will drop their IWGP belts on US ground to a US team that has barely ever worked in Japan. Oh and say hi to Taz, who will make his debut during this match.
Winner – Team 3-D (new Champions)

Brad Curran: Beer Money’s on too much of a roll to lose the belts now, especially since they can drag this feud out until Slammiversary. They can gloat about winning on 3D’s home turf.
Winner: Beer Money

X-Scape Match
TNA X-Division title
Suicide(c) vs. Black Machismo vs. Consequences Creed vs. Sheik Abdul Bashir vs. Kiyoshi

Widro: All the wrestlers are good workers, no matter if Suicide is played by Kaz or Daniels. I think Suicide comes out with the title.
Winner – Suicide

David Brashear: Let’s see here. Lethal’s just had the belt, and he didn’t do anything spectacular. Plus if he or Creed won the belt, we’d see TNA split their team up as they feuded over it, so let’s cross them off. Bashir just had a run that wasn’t anything spectacular, and I don’t believe that Kiyoshi’s ready yet. That means that the belt stays with the masked man.
Winner – Suicide

Mark Allen: So does this mean Frankie Kazarian is back under the hood as Suicide or is Daniels going to do double duty? Maybe, just maybe, this will be the night they put Suicide to bed. Bashir has been on a big roll lately but that could be some serious red herring thrown by Vinny Ru, but I’ll bite…
Winner – Sheik (new Champion)

Brad Curran: Seems a bit early to take the belt off Suicide, especially with Kaz just coming back. He and Bashir can feud for a while.
Winner: Suicide

Matthew Michaels: So is Daniel Christopher Covell wrestling twice tonight or is Frankie Kazarian back under the mask? I think you keep the belt on the champ here.
Winner – Suicide

TNA Women’s title
Awesome Kong (c) vs. Angelina Love vs. Taylor Wilde

David Brashear: Since TNA’s apparently planning on Ayako Hamada being their new top babyface in the women’s division, I don’t see Kong losing the belt until she shows up.
Winner – Kong

Mark Allen: Yeah Kong isn’t losing here…unless it’s one of those damn three ways where you don’t have to be pinned to lose…which it probably is…
Winner – Angelina

Brad Curran: I’m going to take Love as the winner here, following in the footsteps of Edge and being opportunistic and what not.
Winner: Angelina Love

Matthew Michaels: It would be a travesty to put this belt on anyone new just yet.
Winner – Kong

Widro: TNA has almost turned Kong babyface in recent weeks, although she did still team with the BP against the face team on Impact. If they want to do a title switch, this is a good way to do it without Kong getting pinned. This could also set up a full face turn and quest for the title aginst the evil Beautiful People.
Winner – Angelina Love

Queen of the Cage match
ODB vs. Daffney vs. Sojo Bolt vs. Madison Rayne

Mark Allen: Where are Rhaka, Velvet & Roxxi? Is this like last year where they have to fight to get into the ring? Has this match been explained at all?
Winner – ODB

Matthew Michaels: How is Paisley not in this match?
Winner – Madison Rayne

Widro: Seems likely that people like Abyss and Cody Dean will get involved. Hmmm let’s say Daffney.
Winner – Daffney

David Brashear: Much as I’d love to give this one to Daffney, I think that we’ll see ODB pull out the win.
Winner – ODB

New Japan Junior Tag Team Titles
Motor City Machine Guns (c) vs. LAX vs. No Limit

Brad Curran: This could be fun, although the cage stip could hurt it. I don’t see New Japan titles changing hands on a TNA show.
Winner: MCMG

Matthew Michaels: The winner here is probably predicated on who has dates coming up in Japan. Where’s Ditch when you need him? Um…
Winners – No Limit

Widro: Should be an absolutely awesome match with three amazing teams. I’d still love to see Hernandez as a breakout singles star, either here or on Smackdown.
Winners – Motor City Machine Guns

David Brashear: Don’t see the belts changing hands here. Actually, these belts might be a blessing in disguise for the Guns. If they can have a great run with them, maybe TNA management’ll wake up and finally put the Guns into TNA tag title competition.
Winners – Motor City Machine Guns

Mark Allen: So The Machine Guns are going to defend against their actual number one challengers and then an American team that has never really worked in Japan? Um yeah…Plus what’s the deal with Hernandez contending for the Jr. Tag Titles? Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t you have to be under a certain weight limit to compete for Jr. Titles? How the hell does Hernandez work with that?
Winner – MCMG
