Since its debut issue, Superman / Wonder Woman has been about putting this truly dynamic duo up against the most powerful threats in the DC Comics New 52.
- Doomsday made his spoilery prescence felt right from issue #1 leaving a mark on Wonder Woman not #Superman.
- Issue 2 saw Zeus’ replacement as King of the Olympian gods, Apollo quite easily take down Superman. That issue also the New 52 emergence of ZOD!
- Issue #4 saw Zod’s sinister plans began to coalesce despite Superman’s attempts to view his fellow Kryptonian as friend not foe. That issue featured the return of Faora, whose character actually debuted in a different continuity in the Man of Steel film, and the world being jolted by the revelation of Superman and Wonder Woman’s intimate relationship.
- Last month we saw Wonder Woman ponder her relationship with Superman, while Zod questioned it. In the same issue, we also saw how ferocious Wonder Woman could be and, to this reader, it was confirmed that she is probably the DC Comics New 52’s finest military tactician.
With that out of the way, and you caught up, here we go.
SPOILERS for Superman / Wonder Woman #6 follow.
After handily defeating Superman and Wonder Woman with the aid of the Olympian god Apollo, Zod and Faora set their sights on Warworld and bringing its power to bear on Earth!
That leaves Superman and Wonder Woman deposited in a nuclear reactor drained of power. Superman can’t recharge as the sunlight can’t penetrate and their Justice League communicators aren’t working. DC Comics New 52’s two most iconic and strongest super-heroes, helpless, but still in love. Awww. Superman and Wonder Woman hatch a crazy plan to escape their reactor prison.
