Smackdown GM News, Vince Wants Change

News

Vince McMahon is apparently now of the opinion that 2 hours is too long for a wrestling show. The Wrestling Observer reports that he would prefer all shows to be 90 minutes, with one hour being deemed too short, but neither CW or the USA Network would be interesting in changing things at the moment.

The reigning ECW World Champion has also been of the opinion that The Undertaker should not do long promos, merely short one-liners to keep a mysterious aura.

WWE informed Vickie Guerrero this week that she is back on for a role as co-General Manager of Smackdown. They had initially planned for her to take over from Teddy Long a few weeks ago but Vince kept changing his mind about it. She is said to be one of the few people in the company who is loved by everybody, both because of the respect for Eddie and because she is a nice person. Teddy Long had generally been kept out of storylines so it would make Smackdown different, with them just having a fair guy in charge to make announcements and matches, but that has of course changed of late. As Meltzer sees it, using Kristal as more than just a sex object in this angle, and getting Vickie involved, is part of an overall company directive that the women should not be used in a one-dimensional manner.
