Prepare for reality, mayhem and murder this midseason on CBS.
The network announced the premiere of the hidden camera show Game Show in My Head and the serialized murder mystery Harper’s Island, along with the return of Flashpoint, Survivor and The Amazing Race for the midseason.
First, back-to-back episodes of Game Show in My Head will debut on Saturday, Jan. 3. From the daring mind of Ashton Kutcher and his cronies, the show features host Joe Rogan of Fear Factor fame challenging contestants to perform five increasingly outrageous and embarrassing tasks, worth $5,000 apiece, on an unsuspecting public while the camera captures the magic. In the bonus round, contestants have the chance to double their winnings up to $50,000.
Later, on Friday, Jan. 9, Flashpoint returns to be sandwiched Numb3rs. Starring Enrico Colantoni, Hugh Dillon and Amy Jo Johnson, the series centered on the tough lives of the Strategic Response Unit was last summer’s top original scripted series.
Then, the 18th season of Survivor will premiere on Thursday, Feb. 12 with The Amazing Race returning for its 14th edition three days later on Sunday, Feb. 15.
The final schedule change announced includes the Thursday, April 9 premiere of the much-overhauled Harper’s Island, a 13-episode serialized mystery set on a secluded island off the coast of Seattle. An unsuspecting group of friends and family have gathered on the island for the destination wedding of a young couple (Christopher Gorham of Ugly Betty and Katie Cassidy of Supernatural, if previous reports are still accurate), only to be killed off one by one by a mysterious killer.
