Sequel to Disney's Enchanted in the works

News, Press Releases

One of the biggest surprises of 2007 was Disney’s animated/live action musical Enchanted. Audiences everywhere were won over by the new Disney Princess Giselle as she tried to make her way back to Andalasia and her Prince after being pushed down a well and landing in present day New York City. The movie managed to poke fun at every other Disney Princess movie while still being a Disney Princess movie. In fact, when Giselle was introduced, the world hadn’t seen a new Disney princess (whether a real princess or otherwise) since Mulan in 1998. The film was a hit, Giselle merchandise began flying off the shelves at The Disney Store, and Enchanted even managed to score some Oscar nominations.

Although it has been rumored before, it has officially been announced that Disney will be making an Enchanted sequel. So far, Anne Fletcher (The Proposal, 27 Dresses) is attached to direct and Jessie Nelson (Fred Claus, I Am Sam) has been hired to write the screenplay for the sequel. Barry Josephson and Barry Sonnenfeld (Pushing Daisies, Men In Black) will return as producers. Variety reports that “the studio will likely try to bring back the first film’s stars”, but so far none have committed to the project.

Jenny is proud to be the First Lady of Inside Pulse Movies. She gives female and mommy perspective, and has two kids who help with rating family movies. (If they don't like 'em, what's the point?) She prefers horror movies to chick flicks, and she can easily hang with the guys as long as there are several frou-frou girlie drinks to be had.
