Bob Sapp off Impact FC 2, threatens legal action

News

Former K-1 and Pride superstar Bob Sapp was scheduled to return to action on Saturday against Soa Palelei in Australia as part of Impact Fighting Championship’s second event. Sapp had been preparing for the fight whilst completing work on the new ‘Conan the Barbarian’ move in Bulgaria only for the fight to run into problems. He told MMAJunkie that the promotion had suddenly refused to pay his airfare to Australia on grounds of cost, something that Impact FC promoter Tom Huggins denied when talking to Sherdog. Huggins claims that the problems were caused by Sapp failing to sign the fight contract, causing delays that resulted in the promotion not having enough time to organize the logistics of getting Sapp and his cornermen from Bulgaria to Australia. Sapp disputes this, saying that all the paperwork had been signed and that he expects Impact FC to reimburse him for the cost of his training camp, otherwise he may take legal action against them.
