Apparently, Spike works directly through Eric Bischoff now, having lost faith in Dixie Carter. Carter was in power and well-liked, until her plan to have the Main Event Mafia reunite to face Immortal was an utter failure. Booker T wasn’t under contract and had no interest in returning to the company, while Kevin Nash was under contract, but got out of it, reportedly by threatening “to tell the truth about” Dixie. All of the build went nowhere and Fortune was eventually turned, costing Dixie dearly in the eyes of Spike officials.
