For some reason I’m getting a major case of Deja Vu. In reading Paramount Home Entertainment’s announcement for the Blu-ray release of ANCHORMAN: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (The “Rich Mahogany” Edition) I could have sworn it was already available for purchase. Surely, the studio wouldn’t have waited this long for people to see the great San Diego news anchor in all his high-def glory.
Then I remembered that it must have had a limited run as an exclusive title at Best Buy stores.
Those who weren’t fortunate enough to get the Best Buy exclusive back in 2010 will now get their chance as Paramount makes it available for purchase at brick-and-mortar stores and online outlets this December.
Timed in accordance with the upcoming sequel, Anchorman: The Legend Continues, This “Rich Mahogany” edition sports two versions of the film (rated and unrated), a pseudo-sequel made from deleted scenes shot during the production of Anchorman (“Wake Up, Ron Burgundy“), plus several hours worth of bonus features, the “Many Months of Burgundy Diary” and “Collectible Trading Cards.” The Blu-ray will be available nationwide beginning December 3, 2013.
The two-disc Blu-ray is presented in 1080p High Definition with English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, French 5.1 Dolby Digital and Spanish 5.1 Dolby Digital and English, English SDH, French and Spanish subtitles.
