Jay Hieron, who spent his career as one of the best welterweights outside of the UFC but never able to win a fight while in the UFC< has opted to retire. Hieron, who's last fight was a devastating knockout loss to Tyron Woodley at UFC 156 in February of 2013, announced it via Twitter below.

Hieron finishes up his career at 23-7 on a two fighting losing streak, having dropped a decision to Jake Ellenberger before the Woodley knockout loss.
