The Karate Kid 35th Anniversary 4K Blu-ray Coming In April

Disc Announcements, News

Can you believe it has been 35 years since Daniel performed the Crane Kick on Johnny and won the All-Valley Karate Championships? Hailed as one of the best sports movies of all time, John G. Avildsen’s timeless classic, The Karate Kid, will make its 4K Blu-ray debut on April 16th, courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

The man who gave us the Academy Award-winning Rocky brings another crowdpleaser, this time starring Ralph Macchio as Daniel, a New Jersey teen transplanted to the San Fernando Valley. Having difficulty fitting in at high school, Daniel gets educated in the ways of self-defense with the help of Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita), an apartment handyman who teaches him martial arts (and how to properly wash a car, paint a fence, and sand a deck). Daniel will need those handyman skills when he faces Johnny (William Zabka), leader of the Cobra Kais.

Special Features are set to include:
