Winter Soldier Storyline Inspired By Rob Liefeld’s Captain America Heroes Reborn and New Mutants / X-Force’s Cable?

Artist and writer Rob Liefeld posted the below on his Instagram today.

So, did Heroes Reborn influence Ed Brubaker’s Winter Soldier arc?

I’m not disagreeing with Liefeld, but I’d just never heard his claim before.

I am a fan of the Winter Soldier and Cable for what it’s worth.

Also, kudos to Liefeld’s Captain America #1 being the best selling Cap launch ever.
