Pierre David needs a better Wikipedia page. The man is Canadian version of Roger Corman having produced dozens of films since the early 1970s. He crucially hooked up with David Cronenberg for Scanners, The Brood and Videodrome. He has done so much over the decades. And yet if you look at his Wikipedia entry, it is shorter than what I have already written. Luckily he’s willing to be part of the bonus features for Of Unknown Origin, a film that elevated the profile of star Peter Weller and promoted director George P. Cosmatos into the realm of Sylvester Stallone to make Cobra: the greatest first act in an ’80s action film. Of Unknown Origin has Peter Weller losing his cool when his family goes on vacation without him and something in the house won’t let him focus. The movie comes out on Blu-ray on May 22 from Scream Factory. Here’s the press release from Scream Factory that includes the fresh bonus features:
“A visual tour-de-force. Fast, taut and darkly comic.”
– Kevin Thomas, Los Angeles Times

Peter Weller (Robocop, Sons of Anarchy) stars in Of Unknown Origin, an eerie and nerve-tingling suspense thriller directed by George P. Cosmatos (Tombstone, Cobra) and the winner of Paris International Film Festival Awards for Best Picture and Actor. Cleverly and compellingly, the film draws you into a battle of wits, namely one with an intruder that’s formidable, persistent and clever enough to lure Bart (Weller) along on an unwitting path to self-destruction. In the battle of man versus beast, push has come to scream.
