In the back-up or co-feature of Justice League, the Shazam mythos was reinvented for DC Comics New 52. That included Shazam’s main foil Black Adam. At the end of this arc, Black Adam turned to dust, but he is a big part of Forever Evil. Justice League #7.4 Black Adam #1 explains Adam’s return to the land of the living and who he allies with during Forever Evil.
