DC Comics and Superman #29 Spoilers and Review follows.

BIG Death Prophesized To Kick Off Infinite Frontier?

Can Superboy Step Up?

The core story involves father and son…

…as the Suicide Squad’s Amanda Waller tests and monitors from afar.

Whatever this alien threat is, Superman is more vulnerable to it than Superboy.

Nonetheless, father does what he does and seemingly seals the breach and the alien on the other side, but…

…he’s hurt.

Then we get a father-son heart-to-heart as Jon Kent’s time in the future with the Legion of Super-Heroes leads him to believe his dad will die soon and the son is not ready to pick up the dad’s mantle.

No time to go further in that chat as…

…the alien threat as returned!

The back-up story involves…

…Bibbo and Jimmy Olsen vs. two new threats in Projectress and Deadstream.

The Pulse:

An entertaining issue from front to back, but the “pop” or “bang” I would have expected the Superman series to begin with the gain more eyeballs in the new Infinite Frontier era. So, with that, just an “ok” issue overall. 6 out of 10.
