Monkey Prince #10 Spoilers and Review.
This book was teased in Lazarus Planet Alpha #1 (full spoilers here).
Supergirl helps the Monkey Prince defeat the Ultra-Humanite and then she heads back to Metropolis.
The Monkey Prince changes back into Marcus Sun, but also seems to learn that his grandfather is the Ultra-Humanite or was controlling him?!
Marcus keeps this revelation to himself for now as heads off to a shower due to extensive itching (more on that in a minute and its not as a gross as you might forst conclude since I used the word “itching”).
In Metropolis, and around the globe, the Lazarus Volcano fallout from Lazarus Island for the Lazarus Planet event sees regular humans gain super-powers, some temporarily, while established super-beings lie Supergirl seem to lose her powers hopefully temporarily.
In that shower, Marcus continues to ponder the perceived revelation about his grandfather as the source of his itch is found!
It’s a literal mini-me of the Monkey Prince seemingly not caused by the Lazarus rains, but by something called Hair-Into-Clone discipline?!
The Monkey Prince sees Supergirl struggling in battle on a mobile device and joins her in Metropolis where he and his mini-me’s lend a hand.
It works as the super-powers wear off the antagonist who is revealed to be a schoolmate of Marcus’.
The Lazarus rains seems to have other magic properties that repair Marcus’ grandfather’s Phantom Crystal Lens.
He can now repair his Phantom Zone Projector to free the Monkey King, but for what purpose?
The book ends with Supergirl and Monkey Prince pulling a Justice League of sorts together to make a difference during Lazarus Planet.
This story looks to be a lead-in to Lazarus Planet: Alpha #1, not springing from it, but publication dates were changed for some reason.

After the events of Lazarus Planet, Monkey Prince discovers how he is related to the Monkey King, and the truth of who he is shakes him to the core. Everything he knows is questioned, and how can he exist anymore knowing who he actually is? And did Shifu Pigsy know all along? And if so, why didn’t he tell Marcus?
The Pulse.
Another well rendered issue by all members of the art team from amazing pencils to vibrant colors and more. The story itself may be a bit jarring for new readers, but over a few pages how the Monkey Prince’s powers work, and his supporting cast, are illuminated. The Lazarus Planet story beats are intruguing and action packed, but there is no Nezha in this issue despite the cover. Nor his son present the King Fire Bull, an antagonist who first debuted in this Monkey Prince series and is now the big villain behind the Lazarus Planet event. An entertaining read. 8 out of 10.
