Injured WWE RAW Superstar Sami Zayn has some free time on his hands following double rotator cuff surgery and it seems as if he’s been spending that time catching up on his WWE trivia. In an interesting tidbit, 80’s pop music icon and “Rock ‘N Wrestling” pioneer Cyndi Lauper has yet to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
I only today realized that @CyndiLauper is not in the @WWE Hall of Fame celebrity wing.
As part of the "rock n' wrestling connection" with MTV in the 80's, she was CRUCIAL to WWE crossing over into mainstream. Arguably no celebrity more deserving.#InductCyndi

Lauper was a key component in the wrestling business’ boom in the 1980s by first bringing Hulk Hogan to the Grammy Awards where she won Best New Artist, appearing at the first WrestleMania and the famed War to Settle The Score alongside Wendi Richter and Hulk Hogan and also contributing a song to the “classic” WWE-produced “The Wrestling Album”.
While much of the WWE women’s revolution has focused on star’s such as Trish Stratus and Lita, Cyndi Lauper helped bring an insane amount of attention to pro-wrestling before pro-wrestling was ever “cool” and helped make it relevant for decades to come. She may have never wrestled a match but Lauper would be more deserving of a Hall of Fame induction than most celebrities whose only contribution to the business was guest hosting Monday Night RAW.
