DC Comics Universe and DC’s Year Of The Villain #1 Spoilers follows.

What’s Next For DC Comics?

July 2019 – DC’s Year of the Villain: The Offer.

August 2019 – Year of the Villain: Dark Gifts.

September 2019 – Year of the Villain: Evil Unleashed.

October 2019 – Year of the Villain: Doom Rising.

So, DC’s Year of the Villain #1 ends with some goodies and glimpses of the future.

This follows three core stories in the book:

    • The first with revelations about part of Lex Luthor and the Legion of Doom’s plans for the Justice League (full spoilers here);
    • The second the lead into Event Leviathan that encgulfs Batman and beyond as its not a Superman event alone (full spoilers here); an interesting reveal about who Leviathan may be too.
    • The third is the reveal of Perpetua’s plan for Lex Luthor and the Legion of Doom in her plan for the Justice League and the multiverse (full spoilers here).

Part of all of this is a New Secret Six (spoilers here) debuts with heroes turned villains unknowingly (full spoilers here).

With that, DC’s Year of the Villain #1 ends with teases for Justice League #25, Event Leviathan #1, Batman #75 and Batman / Superman #1.

It also includes concept art for several upgraded villain who accept Lex Luthor’s offer of a dark gift. That includes seeming hero team the Terrifics too?!

We then learn which July 2019 books will see a new Lex Luthor, a human-martian hybrid, visit villains with an offer of a dark gift.

Then we learn of how the Batman Who Laughs mini-series leads into a new Batman / Superman series where a new Secret Six emerges under the sway of the evil Batman.

Finally we get a look backwards and a look forward in Lex Luthor’s journey as DC’s top villain.

It wasn’t all that long ago, Lex Luthor was a hero even wearing the Superman shield and even a member of the Justice League.

A lot has changed, haven’t they? Dark days ahead may bode well for engaging readers?
