The first four character posters for Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass have debuted online. Back in August we told you that the studio that offers up the one-two punch of the Saw series and Tyler Perry movies, Lionsgate, was going to distribute Vaughn’s movie in 2010. Based on Mark Millar’s (Wanted) comic series about a kid who decides to be a superhero. But the action is no child’s play. Vaughn goes for the jugular with bloody violence. Though you wouldn’t know it from looking at the posters.
Kick-Ass is both written and directed by British filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, of Layer Cake and Stardust previously. Kick-Ass was funded entirely by Matthew Vaughn and his own private investors and sold once finished to Lionsgate earlier this year. The film is slated to open on April 16th, 2010 alongside a black-centric version of Death at a Funeral, a full-length McGruber movie (based off the SNL sketch), and Piranha 3D starring Richard “I survived Jaws” Dreyfuss.
