Alongside Batman: Eternal and The New 52 Futures End, DC Comics has finally released the title and details of its third (presumably year-long) weekly series called Earth 2: World’s End.
DC Comics has announced the following:
- Launching in October 2014, EARTH 2: WORLD’S END will be written by Daniel H. Wilson, Tom Taylor, Paul Levitz, Marguerite Bennet, and Mike Johnson and will feature art by Eddy Barrows, Jorge Jimenez, Stephen Segovia, Paulo Siqeira, and Tyler Kirkham.
As Earth 2 burns under the fires and fury of Apokolips, the planet’s few heroes unite to wage a futile war for survival against a dark god of unimaginable and unmatched power.
Artist Ben Oliver’s amazing teaser is below.
It features Earth 2’s new Black Superman Val-Zod, its new Batman Thomas Wayne, Power Girl and Huntress presumably returned “home” to Earth 2 and more. If none of that sounds familiar, here’s what you need to know about what’s been transpiring in the ongoing Earth 2 DC New 52 series:
- An evil and alive Earth 2 Superman continues to decimate the world for Darkseid.
- A brand new Earth 2 Batman, with some amazing super-powers himself, is marshalling Earth 2’s “Wonders” to stop the Apokoliptan threat.
- A brand new Black Kryptonian, in an arc called “The Kryptonian”.
- In Earth 2 #21, we may have seen the New 52 debut of Kaldur, the Black Atlantean from Young Justice Cartoon Network fame, in the pages of Earth 2. In that same issue, we’ve also saw some interesting banter between the brand new Red Arrow and Batman that may make CW Arrow fans blush.
- In Earth #22 the identity of the Black Kryptonian was revealed! He’s Krypton 2’s
GeneralScientist Zod’s son!
Thanks for reading. All feedback welcome.
