SPOILERS follow for the finales of Forever Evil branded tie-in’s in Forever Evil: ARGUS #6, Forever Evil: Rogues Rebellion #6, Forever Evil: Arkham War #6 and Forever Evil Blight‘s Justice League Dark #29.
Readers were promised by DC Comics that these four tie-in’s were important to main Forever Evil narrative. So, were they? I can answer that for you. However, before I do, let’s rundown what other items and mysteries need a Forever Evil #7 wrap-up:
- In Forever Evil #6 we learned who was the Earth 3 hooded prisoner of the Crime Syndicate after going through the key candidates. There appears to be more than meets the eye related to this reveal. Stay tuned.
- Nightwing’s fate was sorta shown in Forever Evil #6, but there’s clearly to all this as we chronicled the scenarios for. I can say with the certainty that despite the solicit for Forever Evil #6, the final fate of
NightwingRichard “Dick” Grayson really comes in Forever Evil #7. - Who or what is the Earth 3 Destroyer entity? We may have already gotten our first look at the entity, but it didn’t help narrow down the list of candidates we’ve explored.
- What is the post Forever Evil #7 fate of the Crime Syndicate? They’ve had 50% of the Earth 3 members killed. It really does appear that Lex Luthor may have more of a role in this than we thought.
- How does Forever Evil link to exponentially expanded The New 52: Futures End as the most viable possibility is likely right under our collective noses?
- How does the below-the-radar return of one DC Comics current Top 10 time anomalies in the New 52 play into the Forever Evil finale and Futures End launch?
- What is After Forever?
So, do the finales for ARGUS, Rogues Rebellion, Arkham War and Blight lead into Forever Evil #7. You decide.
SPOILERS for Forever Evil ARGUS #6, Forever Evil Rogues Rebellion #6, Forever Evil Arkham War #6 and Forever Evil Blight’s Justice League Dark #29 follow.
Forever Evil: ARGUS #6
In this issue we learn that the Green Man behind the foundation of A.R.G.U.S. is also the brains behind the returning Crimson Men who appear to be a thorn in A.R.G.U.S. side going forward. In addition we finally when Martian Manhunter communicated with Steve Trevor since J’onn noted he did so in the last Forever Evil tie-in in Justice League of America #13.
So, does Forever Evil ARGUS #6 lead into Forever Evil #7? Yes. It appears to lead into the Forever Evil finale as well as upcoming issue(s) of Justice League per the cliffhanger page.
Forever Evil: Rogues Rebellion #6
The issue features the Rogues triumphant against other villains from across the DC Comics New 52.
So, does Forever Evil Rogues Rebellion #6 lead into Forever Evil #7? No. The cliffhanger page literally has the words “The End” on it. The only real connection to the main Forever Evil series is the placement of Rogue Captain Cold on Lex Luthor’s Injustice League. Cold follows Luthor onto the actual Justice League team too while Superman and Flash elect not to.
Forever Evil: Blight’s Justice League Dark #29
The Justice League Dark vanquish the threat with, perhaps, damaging the fabric of reality.
So, does Forever Evil Blight’s Justice League Dark #29 lead into Forever Evil #7? No. The cliffhanger page teases a status quo change for the JLD, but nothing related to Forever Evil.
Forever Evil: Arkham War #6
The preceding three books came out today on March 26, 2014. The remaining Forever Evil tie-in mini-series set in Gotham City hit shelves earlier in March. However, the question about Forever Evil #7 remains.
Bane beats Scarecrow for Gotham City.
So, does Forever Evil Arkham War #6 tie into Forever Evil #7? No. It apparently leads into April’s Forever Evil Aftermath: Batman vs. Bane #1.
Despite hyping all of these tie-in’s as leading into Forever Evil #7, only 1 of the 4 appear to do so. And, we’ll have to wait longer to find out for sure since Forever Evil #7 was pushed back 2 months from March to May 21, 2014.
